Midwest Association of Public Procurement (MAPP)

Chapter Background: Founded in 1980, the Midwest Association of Public Procurement (MAPP) has served as a leading professional association for Procurement Professionals throughout Northern Illinois and the Greater Midwest region. As an official chapter of the National Institute for Public Procurement (NIGP), MAPP was established to advance the Public Procurement Profession through education, collaboration, ethical leadership, and professional development.

For over 45 years, MAPP has provided a valuable network for procurement professionals representing municipalities, counties, educational institutions, park districts, townships, and other public agencies in the region. MAPP’s mission centers on promoting professionalism, integrity, and excellence within public procurement. Through seminars, certification preparation courses, networking events, educational programming, and leadership opportunities, the chapter supports the continued education, growth, and advancement of procurement professionals at every stage of their careers. MAPP also encourages the free exchange of ideas and best practices while supporting improvements to procurement laws, policies, and ethical standards.

The chapter’s commitment to education and professional certification has helped countless members pursue credentials such as the CPPB, CPPO, and NIGP-CPP, further elevating the standards of public procurement practice throughout the industry. Today, MAPP continues to build upon its proud history by fostering innovation, mentorship, and collaboration among procurement professionals.
